Jachie Eye Clinic The close involvement of St. Barnabas with the Jachie Eye Clinic in Ghana has come about through the training and support of Rowland Cowley, a retired eye surgeon and member of St. Barnabas.  Specific funds are given for the maintenance of a vehicle to allow visits to outlying villages and schools, and for Twi bibles for the local church.  Craft Aid is an annual event at St. Barnabas vital to the continuance of this clinic.  This work and the wider community in Ghana was further supported by a trip to Ghana by members of the St. Barnabas congregation in April 2005, and continues to be supported also by individual donations.
Tearfund Tearfund works through local churches and Christian agencies, as partners, to open up brighter futures for the world’s poorest communities.  As well as supporting their work throughout the world, St. Barnabas also gives specific support to the Asha community health project in Delhi.
CMS Veronica and Malcom White worked for the Church Missionary Society at the Church of the Redeemer, Amman, Jordan and have recently returned to England.  Click here to read the letter they wrote on their return.
SAMS Alejandro Mesco, who is  pastor of St. Luke's Church in Arequipa, Peru and also in charge of several social projects in that area, works for the South American Mission Society.
Prison work A few people from St. Barnabas have been involved for some years in work in the local prison Holme House, for instance in running Alpha courses there.  More recently, we have been supporting Gram Seed in establishing Sowing Seeds Ministries.   The Angel Tree Project supports families of prisoners at Christmas.
Schools work St. Barnabas is committed to the employment of a part-time schools worker to bring the gospel into local schools.  This work is part funded by the Diocese of York.
Hope Africa Hope Africa represents the social development programme of the Anglican Church in Southern Africa.

Church Army

The work of the Church Army is supported through the work of  Jeff and Vanessa Kirby, former members of St. Barnabas, who have been doing invaluable work in one of the poorer areas of Sheffield.
Bible Society The Bible Society provides assistance with producing bibles in countless languages for countries all over the world.  They are also active in Britain with 'storytelling' and other projects to encourage bible reading.
CPAS The Church Pastoral Aid Society offers various facilities supporting our work at St. Barnabas and other local churches, including running leadership courses and in helping to train the laity.
Ordination Fund The Ordination Fund provides financial help to those undergoing ordination.
