            Alpha

Next Alpha supper : Thursday, 20th Sep., 2007

Speaker : Martin Ruddick

Course follows on subsequent Thursdays.

Have you just started coming to church and wonder what it’s all about?

Have you been at St Barnabas for years and would like to go back to basics?

Do you have questions and don’t know where to ask them?

Do you want to stretch you mind and think about what really matters?

Have you heard people talking about Alpha and wondered what it’s really like?

Have you thought about doing the Alpha Course?

There are Alpha Courses taking place all round the world. It is a ten week course, exploring questions like: Why did Jesus die? How can I be sure of my faith? How does God guide us? What about the church? How can I make the most of the rest of my life? Each evening starts with a meal, then a talk and ends with discussion. Alpha is for anyone and everyone is welcome. Bring a friend or come on your own. Free tickets will be available at the beginning of September. The Alpha Supper is on Thursday 22nd September, but going to the supper doesn’t commit you to going on the course, so come and have a great meal, hear our guest speaker, Revd David Rhodes, from Sheffield, and decide whether you want to take it further.

The Alpha course now runs in many countries throughout the world, as well as in very many churches of all denominations here in the UK.

An alternative to the Alpha Course for young people is the 'Y' course.  This course has been used by the 'Next' group (aged 18 to 30).
